Paleostress reconstruction

[Picture]
Results of the paleostress analysis and rose diagrams of the trends of the corresponding joints. In (a) & (b), the two joint sets are examined separately, whereas in (c) both sets are analysed together.
This work was a part of my Master's dissertation and my first attempt at paleostress analysis.  In this study, we documented two sets of (sub-) vertical joints within the pebbles of the Upper Siwalik rocks (near Dehradun, Uttarakhand, India) from the northern limb of the NW-SE trending Mohand Anticline. The orientation data of the joints were then fed into T-Tecto Studio X5 software package to obtain ENE-WSW direction of horizontal compression. Please check Dutta et al. (2019) for more.
